  • All Cherokee County High Schools Named AP STEM Achievement Schools
  • 72% of AP Tests (high school) in 2010 scored high enough to earn college credit
  • Outstanding Achievement:  10 Cherokee County High Schools recognized by the Governor's Office of Student Achievement (GOSA) for outstanding performance on 2009-10 State curriculum tests.  (Includes awards presented to schools that show excellence and/or significant progress in student achievement.)  Cherokee County Schools receiving recognition in the Highest Performance category include:

  • Etowah HS was named a 2010 National Blue Ribbon School today (Sept. 9) by the U.S. Department of Education (USDOE), one of 304 schools in the Nation to receive the elite recognition. 
  • The Cherokee County School District's  Parental Awareness for Safe Schools (PASS) Program has been recognized by the National School Safety Advocacy Council as one of 15 programs in the Nation that exemplify outstanding school safety initiatives.
